Carolina Bound

I'm a single woman in my late fifties, with two grown sons, a beautiful grandson, an old dog and two cats (who currently hate each other!) I retired early in 2007 (retiring my debt as well!) and I am sharing a home with my cousin in the mountains of North Carolina. My challenge is to make ends meet on a retiree's (very limited) income.

Savings goals:

Medical premium (2009): $4800 (funded)

Medical/Dental fund: $2359 ($177 funded)

Emergency fund: $1000 ($95 funded)

Getting closer to those crowns

Yesterday I got my refund from State Farm, which was $516. I have added it to my dental fund.

When I get my $600 from GWB in May, that's where it's going, too. I may get my crowns sooner than I thought!

Ooh, how exciting! I'm working on crown #5 myself. It's so great when you know that's finally done and over with. Unfortunately, I didn't see this one coming when I planned my FSA this year.

I have 3 and let me tell you, I am taking better care of my teeth these days. Flossing 2-3 times a day, using fluoride and getting regular cleanings
