Can I retire again?

February 5th, 2011 at 12:29 am

I had a bad day. I am so tired of getting criticism at work. I know I do good work, but I seem to be the only one who thinks so. I am so dispirited today I wish I never had to go back.

But I have to work until I am 66. That's four and a half more years, which at least sounds better than five. So I have to do something about my attitude. My phone interview did not lead to anything, so I must suck it up and survive.

Enough of that. My lunch today was a Michelina entree -- beef, peppers & rice -- a container of yogurt and a cupcake. I also had a bag of kettle corn for a snack. I had breakfast at home -- Cheerios and the last of my breakfast casserole. And dinner was a peanut butter sandwich and milk, because I didn't feel like making anything.

I stopped at Ace on the way home to buy a shovel, so I can clean off my paio, but (surprise!) they were out. They are expecting a shipment tomorrow, so I'll check in then.

I can't really tell if the cat food on the patio has been touched. I am still hoping the cats are okay.

LOL, I'm sorry you had one of those days!

Do you own your own home? Is there a mortgage?

Keep the faith sweetie about your job. I know that in any given day it may not feel the greatest but those paydays make up for a lot. Time passes so quickly. I bet 66 will be here before you know it. I hope the kittie comes back.

Keep looking for another job if this one gets you down. If you have to work another 4 1/2 years, you don't want to be miserable!

Would a broom work on your snow? Or do you have to shovel? Just curious!

Petunia, I'm living in an apartment. I sold my house several years ago (long story, but it's all in my blog) and I have not bought again, basically because my work is too far away from where I want to be living -- near my kids. So I'm putting in this time in the west suburbs and will move up to the north suburbs when I retire -- or find another job.

I will keep looking, but I feel better today after a good night's sleep.

Boo, the snow is too deep and heavy for a broom. I did go to Ace this morning and got a shovel and cleared the patio, mostly for the sake of the cats I hope are still alive. I saw footprints again, so I think at least one of them is alive -- unless it's a raccoon. But I think they are cat prints.

So is the house fund in your sidebar savings to purchase your next house?

I'm glad you feel better today, and I hope the kitties are alive too.

Yes, it is to purchase a condominium after I retire.
