Well, that was the most uneventful Halloween ever. By the time I got home from work, I saw no trick or treaters in my neighborhood. Of course, I was expecting none at all to come to my place, since I am on the second floor of a gated building. But I thought the grandchildren might stop by. I know they were going to try out a different neighborhood, however, with friends; I imagine it all got too complicated.
In the end I went to bed early. I can't seem to catch up on my sleep. I am tired all the time. I had the same thing after my appendectomy.
All the name tag drama will be resolved today. Even though I located calligraphic markers yesterday, after I wrote the first page of names, I gave up. I'm off. I don't know whether it's the equipment, being rusty myself, or being post-surgical and on meds, but my work just wasn't up to snuff. Luckily, yesterday one of our secretaries offered to print them for me today, which is a big relief.
We had Halloween treats at work all day yesterday, which provided free breakfast and lunch for me. (And no, it wasn't all candy!) I spent $17 on calligraphy markers (what a waste!) I also found some deeply discounted art pencil sets that I will use as a gift ($11). On the way home I stopped for gas at the cheap station -- $19.
I brought in my lunch today, but it wept onto a book in my train bag. Luckily not too badly, and it is a freebie book from the station, but I have to learn to be careful about that.
Later today I will publish my October recap.

I find being a new place messes with my energy levels, so that may be contributing to the post-surgery tiredness too. Hang in there; things will improve!
