Operating on little sleep

November 16th, 2012 at 02:44 pm

Last night I went to visit my new granddaughter and to help out if I could. I did some dishes and prepared a vegetable tray, but there was not much that needed to be done otherwise. I got to hold her for a while and give her her bottle. About 8:30 I left to give them their private time.

When I got home, I wrapped presents for my grandson. His birthday was on the 14th, and I was in on the tail end of the "kid" party and cake & candles, but tonight is the official family gathering, so it is tonight I am giving my presents. It took me a while to find and wrap them, but I got to bed fairly early. Only to lie awake for hours. I finally took a painkiller, which helped, but I don't think I got much sleep at all before the alarm went off at 5. I would have skipped work today, except that I have an important meeting. I'm sure not going to be in tip-top shape for it.

I bought breakfast at the train station this morning - $6 for a caramel latte and a pumpkin muffin. I felt that this was going to be such a hard day, I needed a boost. I have to say they were delicious and made my morning feel much better.

Tonight I will be eating out again, as the birthday party is at a restaurant. I will bear in mind that I've already had my treat, and order accordingly. And try not to fall asleep at the table.

All I can say is TGIF!!

Sorry to hear about the poor sleeping! My daughter went to the midnight showing of Twilight and came in at 2:45. Sadly, because I fell asleep at 9:00, my body registered it as a full six hours, so I've been up since 3:00. Bah!

Glad to hear that your enjoying the bundle of joy!
