In Like a Lion

That's me! I'm roaring into this month, determined to make my $300 challenge this time.

I began March with a trip to the grocery. I was concentrating on limiting myself to the 10 items I really needed. I didn't really pay a lot of attention to prices and yet the bill was low -- only $25!

My purchases were: vinegar, paper towels, tortillas, sugar, eggs, wine, mini peppers, mushrooms, salad, and dressing.

I had a weekend visit to the physical therapist and this time met with a different therapist, who gave me four more exercises to fit in my routine. She also wants me to do the whole routine 2-3 times daily. Two times, maybe, three times is impossible! Nobody gets my schedule. Now if I could do them on the train, or in the station, yeah, that might work!

It is zero weather again this morning but no one is even complaining any more. We're all just numb and despairing!

I did a lot of cooking this weekend -- made chicken noodle soup with vegetables, mashed potato bowls with veggies, and vegetarian spaghetti sauce. See a theme here? I'm really trying to eat more vegetables, which is tough, since I really don't like them. But I do understand their value! I went to my son's house for dinner last night, and my DIL served turkey meat loaf with mashed cauliflower and green beans. She is on a health kick, too! She's lost 12 lbs. and looks great.

Nice grocery bill! It's cold here too. I still made myself go to the gym, clearly one of a few that ventured out. I can't keep letting the weather be my excuse. I saw a school bus driver had a sign on his dash today that said, THINK SPRING. I liked that idea. It will come eventually!

I did a lot of cooking yesterday too....granola, homemade chocolate pudding (not from a box!) and a white bean mash-up thing on toast. Very cold here today also.

Wow the white bean mashup thing sounds interesting. Could you share the recipe. I'm looking for lenten foods.
