MyPoints

July 23rd, 2014 at 01:26 pm

My Snowflakes are up to $905 now that I added $25 from MyPoints. I got the Amazon gift card credit. I used to wait for $50 rewards from MyPoints, but now it takes so long to get the points. There aren't nearly as many click-through's as there used to be. I am not one to sign up and register for "special offers" since my mailbox is cluttered enough as it is.

I do always try to qualify for surveys, so I can get the 10 points. I'm almost never accepted for the full survey.

Anyway, my Snowflakes are the highest they've ever been! Getting near $1000 is awesome!

I'm also getting near the $40 mark in found money. The other day my DIL teased me for picking up a penny, and I told her, "Hey, I'm almost up to $40 now." That gave her pause.

Other than purchasing the train pass, which I reported yesterday, I spent no more money. On the way home I was really craving caramel/nut corn from Garrett's and even briefly got in line, but then I thought, "What is this helping? My budget, my diet? No, just my cravings." I got out of line.

Last night I turned on the air conditioner in my bedroom. The ceiling fan was on, too, and I had a lamp on. Nothing else in the condo was on. Poof! Everything went black. Maybe it was the ceiling fan that did it. All I know is, I'm about ready to give up on the air conditioner. I used only the ceiling fan last night, as a storm and cooldown was predicted (and came!) I suppose I can turn on the air when EVERYTHING is off, but that's pretty limiting. I like to read in bed.

I'm starting to get a little tired of vintage charm.

Last night I noticed the cat food bowl was getting low, and this morning I left without refilling it. I feel so bad! I know the cats will be all right today, but they'll be hungry. It seems like I just can't get out the door without forgetting something!

I used to put a big box fan on a chair right next to my bed. I got so used to it the noise would put me to sleep. Do you have one of those lights that clip onto a book?

Great job resisting that popcorn! Congrats on accumulating so many snowflakes, too.

SS, the ceiling fan works pretty well -- just can't use it in sync with the air conditioner! I used to have a book light but found it irritating. I'm thinking the lamp and the AC might be okay.

CCF, thanks! In the long run, it felt good to resist.

Terrific on Snowflakes and $ 40. in found coins. I admire stepping out of line and foregoing the popcorn treat since the scent is enticing.

Can you check with condo management to learn if others also have shorts when using AC? What 'phantom' power operates along with AC? TV, DVD, range, computer, printer, some lamps use power even when not in use. Have you tried lights and AC combo?

Hmmm I never really noticed but you're right, there aren't too many clicks with Mypoints anymore. Way to go on the found money, I'll have to start keeping track as well.

I do My Points too but hardly ever qualify for the surveys....I guess the 10 points add up over time. I am at 6400 points and am trying to decide if I want to wait until I can get $50 worth of gift cards or just cash out now and build it back up. Sometimes I do buy gift cards though when they have a good special(extra points) and it is somewhere I know we will go to eat....those points can add to your total fast.

I created a dummy email account for when I do complete the offers that require an email on swagbucks. I just make sure to eventually go into it and cancel out of all the programs. That way there is no clutter in my two main email accounts.

Should I send you an extra head lamp I have? I used to use one reading in my old house when the AC would shut off the power to the upstairs area. We could either be cool or read/watch tv/ whatever but not both at the same time. Eventually the landlord fixed it but I moved out anyway.

    Awesome about almost reaching $40!

Aw, Kiki, thanks, but I can't picture myself wearing a headlamp in bed! I have yet to try the lamp/air conditioner combination. It's been cool the last two nights, so no AC needed.

I send most of my signup things to an unused email account too (actually three different ones...) Mypoints has definitely slowed down for earning opps.
