New Charger

August 4th, 2014 at 02:45 pm

I try so hard to remember everything as I go out the door in the morning. This morning, when I was at the station, I realized I hadn't grabbed my phone. THEN I realized I never took it out of my bag yesterday, so I had my phone with me, it just didn't have much juice!

I decided to bite the bullet and buy a charger in the station. I'm sure I paid top dollar ($33) but now I'll have one to keep at the office. Consider it a stupid tax.

I found another penny on the train, so that offsets the cost! Smile

Looks like I will be able to transfer $650 to savings on payday, unless I have to take money out of the bank during the next two weeks.

This week, before my trip to Michigan on Friday, I want to get a mani-pedi and vacuum my car's interior (it's a mess!) Should have done both this weekend -- I'll have to make time in the evenings. I'm leaving on the trip right after work on Friday. It'll be a traffic mess, but I like to have the whole day on Saturday. My SIL is going to take me to her oil painting class on Saturday morning -- what fun that will be!

A nice chunk of change to savings! Like that.

Is there any way you can return that charger?

You can charge with a regular USB cable and you can buy a generic charger for an Android on Amazon for about $6. I have only generic chargers, but I have a ton of them. One on every floor of the house and one at every site where I sometimes work.

I hate to see you spend $33! There was probably someone at work from whom you could have "borrowed some juice." Charger-borrowing is a common occurrence in my office.

I'd try to return it if humanly possible.

If I forget to charge my phone overnight, I set it on 'Airplane' mode as with all internals off it charges really fast. I too use USB cable to charge off my computer with an electric plug add on.

It's okay, folks. I knew I was getting hosed, but I was paying for the convenience of an immediate no-hassle solution to my problem. I will make it up in other ways.

I seriously doubt that Hudson News, with its transient, high-volume, and time-pressed clientele, is very much into doing refunds, especially when the only reason is that there is something cheaper out there. We all know there is something cheaper out there!

I would return it if it were dysfunctional, however.

Dollar cost average it...how many times will you charge your phone with it? And peace of mind is worth something!

I hope the oil painting class was fun! It sounds like it would be.
