The conference I attended was great -- but expensive. I didn't have to pay for the conference myself, but I did volunteer to have dinner with the speakers the night before. My portion of the meal was $43. The good news is that I had enough leftovers for several lunches, since I ordered sides to share with the table, and most of it didn't get eaten. Then I had to pay $41 in parking, for the night before and the day of the conference. One of my colleagues gave me $10, though, for giving her a ride, and another has offered to give me something.
Another good thing is that I picked up the tab for the whole table (I am the Treasurer) and I put it on my Discover card, to go toward my bonus. My fellow board members paid me in cash for their portions, and I'll write a check to myself from the board account to pay for the speakers' dinners.
After the conference I drove to Michigan to visit my brother on his birthday weekend. I bought him some silly gifts to open ($29) and I spent $30 on gas. I came back home last night, tired but happy.
Our building is having issues with the boiler. It has to be worked on, but meanwhile, they are only turning it on a few hours a day. Last night, when I got home, it was toasty, but in the night it got very cold. At one point I finally woke up enough to get my warm comforter on the bed, which helped a lot. Hope it will be fixed soon.
I found .15 over the weekend!
I ordered some stuff for no cost on Amazon due to credits I had built up. I have a little Christmas shopping done -- books and games for the boys -- and I also bought some magnetic closures for my tricky necklaces. I also have a window-washing device on the way which is supposed to wash both sides of a pane of glass at the same time. I'm skeptical, but if I can get any dirt off the outside face of the inner window, it will be a plus!
