Getting Back on Track, and Work News

October 7th, 2014 at 01:13 pm

Last evening was a night of trying to get back on track. It's always so hard to be away from home for the weekend and then come back to face another week of work, while all the home tasks are undone. I did manage to do one load of laundry ($1.50). I made myself some cheese quesadillas for dinner, but did not get to the dreaded task of unloading/loading the dishwasher.

For tonight, I'm thawing a chicken breast. I'll probably saute it, and make some mashed potatoes on the side. It's very large, so I may cut up some of it to flavor soup.

I packed some frozen mac & cheese for lunch, as well as some green beans, both left over from my restaurant dinner of Thursday night.

I bought breakfast at the station this morning ($4).

Last week I order some stuff from Amazon (free with gift credits) and it is trickling in. Last night I got a book for my grandson's Christmas. Didn't realize it was paperback! But, oh well, free.

We had big news at work yesterday -- our President is leaving. He will finish out the school year, but there will be an interim in place who will do most of the work while he executes his job search. I have expected this for some time, but now is an inopportune time, as we were just beginning to gear up for a capital campaign. Guess that will be on hold now.

I'm not too concerned one way or the other, since my time here is limited.

My financial task today is to question a radiology bill I got for my hospital visit. Since everything else was covered, I wonder why the radiology bill was not. I may not get anywhere, but I'll ask. HMO's. Sigh.
