Speaking of Snowflakes....

March 27th, 2015 at 06:04 am

We have more of them -- yes -- the real ones! So sick of this.

I drove this morning, because I just plain didn't want to walk to the station. It's record cold, it's snowing, I've had it, I'm done! I'm hoping to make the best use of my drive by going to the emissions inspection place at noon and getting an oil change on the way out of town. I also brought a package to mail and will stop at the bank.

The roads were slick and I saw the aftermath of an accident on the way. Had I been a few minutes earlier, I might have been involved, but the employees at Steak N Shake were so slow this morning, they probably saved me from being at the wrong place at the wrong time! My Steak N Shake breakfast was $3. I did bring my lunch.

Dinner tonight will be either French onion soup or veggie fried rice. Neither one will be quick, so I'm planning to save a snack to eat just before I get on the road.

Weatherman promises warmer temperatures in the near future, so I'm not giving up all hope!

It's cold here too, but no snow. I also saw 60s for temperatures next week!

Just think -- this is your last winter commuting! Smile

As a fellow Chicagoan I am with you ALL the way about the snow. I said much the same thing on another site.

I do remember an even later BAD snow. Think it was early April of 1975, possibly 1974. Was a real heavy snowfall not the 1/2 inch like yesterday.

It's been in the 30s/40s here - we apparently had some snow on Thursday and I saw some snowflakes on my way home Friday. None of it stuck.
