Thanksgiving and the Aftermath

December 1st, 2015 at 03:59 pm

Lost my entry -- so here goes again!

Good Thanksgiving! Food, games, fun, conversation -- the best!

Pretty frugal, too -- only $32 for gas, $24 for road food. Spent about $20 on food I brought. And I brought home leftovers - turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, pie -- that are probably worth a lot more than that!

Yesterday I took my sister back to the airport and then went straight to work, so it was a long day, and tiring. But I got confirmation that I will be paid on Monday.

November spending:

Car Repair/Maintenance - $3411
Housing - $677
Groceries - $181
Gifts/Charity - $140
Vet/Pet Supplies - $140
Utilities - $125
Fees/Services - $75
Vacation/Travel - $58
Phone - $51
Eating Out - $50
Medical/Health - $47
Entertainment - $37
Business - $35
Personal - $17
Laundry - $15
Household Supplies - $9
Fares/Parking - $6

Total: $5074
Variables spending: 84%

I didn't count the expensive car repair in the variables; it's coming out of savings.

I have a lovely day at home looming ahead. I'm going to enjoy it! I always need my introvert/nerd time after being with people 24/7 -- even when it was wonderful! Off to get some coffee now!

Today's menu:

Breakfast: Pecan pie (I have to admit)
Lunch: Bacon sandwiches, veggies
Dinner: Ham & sweet potatoes

C.B. I love egg custard pie. Since my heart attack, my dear husband has made me an egg custard pie every week (for almost 2 years) I have it every day for lunch. I think pie makes a great meal. (breakfast too!)

Well, pecan pie for breakfast is wrong in many ways, but it does have protein!

I'm all in with pie for breakfast - or really any meal, for that matter Smile

I often rationalize fruit pie (with an oatmeal topping) or cranberry apple crisp for breakfast--fruit, oatmeal--sounds like breakfast to me!
