And So It Begins

December 4th, 2015 at 02:09 pm

I was able to put in six hours of work at home yesterday. It looks like the remote link is working well now. That is a relief!

I did have an interruption when my DIL came over with GS2. Turns out she had been calling me, and I didn't hear the phone. She needed to run to school to help GS1 with a project, but GS2 was home with a sore throat. So I went over there and read books to him for about an hour, and he explained all about Pokémon to me! And I still got the six hours in, so all was good.

Lookin' at six hours today, and then I will spend the weekend on Christmas stuff. I haven't brought the tree up from the basement yet. I also promised a birthday dinner on Sunday for my son, but it's up in the air, as he's scheduled an online exam on that day. Maybe he will be available afterwards.

No spending yesterday except for a $5 donation to Wikipedia. I use it a lot in my work, and I really do appreciate that it is a website with no ads. I hope it is able to stay that way.

Because of my work schedule, I'm going to miss out on driving my cousin to Florida, to her winter home. It's always a fun trip, sweetened by the possibility of seeing my kids, but this December I have no time at all. I told her I would be free as a bird in January, but of course she doesn't want to wait that long.

Today's menu:

Breakfast: Pecan pie (hey! I'm almost done with it!)
Lunch: Ham sandwich, veggies
Dinner: Sweet potato pancakes, applesauce

I so admire your gracious thoughts about how this short term contract has impacted your plans. I hope the added income and contract deductibles will fund visiting cousin in Florida and visiting your DKs later in winter.
