Day One Hundred Sixty

July 31st, 2016 at 02:28 pm

Calories: 1381

No more spending to report.

I just got back from the gym, one-half hour on the recumbent bike plus abs. I plan to go tomorrow morning, too, although I will be leaving for three days in Michigan. Tomorrow is strength training and I don't want to skip it. Since I have the cheap membership, I can't go to a Planet Fitness in Michigan.

Tomorrow is free pizza day, too, and I will miss that! But of course I will be getting free food for the next three days. Smile

I have the makings for a Mexican turkey meatloaf, so I'm going to either make it today, or freeze the ingredients to make it when I come home. We'll see how the day goes. It's not steamy hot, so using the oven is a possibility. I should make granola at the same time; make the oven do double-duty.

I found a home for all that copy paper. I cleared out the bottom drawer of my file cabinet and stacked it there. It's easily accessible, and it will stabilize the file cabinet (not that it's unstable, but now it's really rock-solid!)

CB, Is it okay to ask the general vicinity in Michigan you visit? If you are uncomfortable, I understand!

No, it's okay. I've mentioned it before. I go to Holland.

I may be moving back next year and am looking in the general Lansing area. I need to be within 25 miles of campus for my son. I realize this is a bit of a distance but am curious if you know anything about Charlotte or Grand Ledge as these are the target areas I am looking at.

For Laura S: I live in Lansing on the west side in Delta Township. Both Charlotte and Grand Ledge are nice towns. I like both of them. Grand Ledge would be closer to MSU, but both towns are a 15 or 20 minute (maybe more) drive. Both towns have a Meijer, a McDonald's, a Burger King, etc.

I'm with you on using the oven before the weather heats up again. I'm baking bread this afternoon for a couple of meals.

Hope you have a lovely trip.

Great idea on the storing the copy paper in the bottom drawer. It truly will stabilize it. Funny how paper can be so heavy.

Good for you on keeping up going to the gym even on the cusp of a trip Smile

Laura, my folks moved to Lansing after I left home. I visited there, but never really got to know the area. They moved away shortly after, when they retired. I do remember a minor baseball league called the Lugnuts, which I thought was a wonderful name!

I remember the Lugnuts too actuallySmile I spent time up there as a kid, but other than visiting MSU two weeks ago, had not been there in years. @Merilu, thanks for the info. It helps a lot.
