It's Hot!

But it's still not too bad inside, so I'm still holding off on my AC.

I went for my walking club walk this morning and I had such a nice conversation with one of the other members. Plus I reconnected with someone I met several years ago at a dinner event. Since we started at 8 am, it wasn't too hot. I did feel the exercise -- I walked for an hour. No Planet Fitness for me today.

After I got home I pitted my cherries and cut up my fresh personal-size pineapple (which is delicious!). Right now my cherry-chicken dish is simmering on the stove. This evening I'm going to roast some asparagus, and serve it with sauteed tilapia.

I reserved my rental cars -- decided to go with one car upon arrival and another upon departure, since it is not needed through the week. The cost will be just under $100. The catch is that dropoff is at the airport, so when I arrive, if my DIL is not able to pick me up, I will have to get a taxi. It will still be cheaper than keeping a car for the whole week.

Only a week to go, so it's time to be thinking about what I'm going to pack, etc. Hard to believe it's almost time to go down there again. Time really flies.

    Very hot here too--and we turned the A/C on last night for better sleeping.

    Our heat wave just broke temporarily due to a big thunderstorm. Yesterday it got almost up to 100 degrees; right now it's 67!

    It's hot downstate too. But, I think you were warmer yesterday than we were, but the mercury is rising big time today.

    Yesterday was very warm in CT, but I didn't turn my new central AC on til about 5 pm, so I could sleep. Set at 77, the downstairs seems livable but the upstairs is noticeably warmer. It's 5 am now and I've turned it down a notch to 76...still searching for the ideal temperature.

    Havent' yet seen my electric bill. Feeling some trepidation about that.

    It's been hard to figure for me--we had the cooling lake breeze for a couple hours yesterday, then the wind shifted and it's hot again. Ceejay--did you get the hail I saw on the news?
