No-Spend Day

July 14th, 2018 at 12:53 pm

Yesterday was a pretty calm day. GS1 left early to go to the batting cages with his friends, so GS1 and I played a board game. He "taught" me how to play. His instructions were hilarious. He's 8.

No spending at all. For lunch we had leftover pizza.

Today I'm off duty. I'm going to do some laundry and some general housework. I found a couple more boxes so I'm going to continue boxing up things for the garage sale.

Tomorrow there are three baseball games. It's raining this morning, so I hope that means there will be a cool-off.

I got a coupon for a free full stack at IHOP, which I will have to use by the end of the month.

Variables are at 45%, with 11 days to go.

Do you find it a challenge to find boxes? I really have found it is often difficult to find good, sturdy boxes to use for donations and things like that. Last Christmas I had to actually go to one of those shipping places and pay through the nose to ship some presents because I could not find any boxes that closed. DH teases me about hoarding cardboard boxes through the year, but there is a reason for that. We did finally ask the thrift shop where we donate things if we could have some empty boxes and they gladly shared some so we could fill them up and take some things in.

No, it's easy to get boxes from the dumpsters in the alley behind our buildings. Lots of very clean Amazon boxes.

That's good for you. I'm glad you can find some nice clean boxes.

Guess that's one advantage to city living!
