A New Day

October 28th, 2018 at 05:11 am

A busy day yesterday. I babysat in the morning, then went to the gym, grocery shopping at Sam's, and then to my ex's house (with my kids) because it was his birthday and other family members were visiting from out of state. I stayed until late evening.

I accepted a bid on eBay. The money I made above the shipping cost is about what I paid for the items I bought at Goodwill, so if I sell just one more, I will have made a profit.

I have been getting some heckling on my posts -- not just the current ones, but old ones, too -- which I will be deleting. This makes me realize that our supportive community of active bloggers here is just the tip of the iceberg and that our words also go out to people who are not only not friends, but hostile and mean-spirited. It's probably not a good idea to be as open as I have been, so I'm going to be less specific from now on and remove my financial details. I'll figure out something later to put in my sidebar. Till then it will look a little weird.

Hoping everyone has a lovely Sunday!

I saw the heckler. Probably just a crazy spammer. Just ignore! I find the internet brings out the hate in so many people. Especially in the comments of news or political posts.

I am sorry about the heckler’s comments. I didn’t see/read them. It is a shame that you have to alter the sharing when this is a communal sharing space. For full disclosure, I don’t have a blog because I don’t think I have much to add (I work. I pay bills. I save.). I have enjoyed reading about your family and finances. Thank you.

Yes, thank you for your posts! I, too, enjoy reading the details -- I think it must be that you are a good writer. And for what its worth-- I've brought my laundry and had others bring theirs-- when it was a choice of in a home versus lugging it to a laundromat situation.

I remembered you had a dog when moving back to Midwest, did you take him?

Fannie, my dog died when I was still living in the Carolinas. His hip failed and he had to be put down. It may have happened during the period when I wasn't blogging.

Stephanie, I don't mind that you don't have a blog but still make comments. You are always fair, positive and respectful. What I take issue with is someone who jumps in rudely with harsh criticism and judgment and remains anonymous.

Carol, thank you! About the laundry issue -- my BFF and my brother actually love me and they are glad to let me use their machines -- especially after they saw my setup! (Four flights of stairs, dingy basement, old malfunctioning machines, paying to use them, having to wait when others get there first....) I think they would be mad at me if I didn't bring my laundry! Anyway, they know I am far from being a user and that I pitch in and help them in many ways, and always bring food and/or gifts. Sigh. I will be more circumspect from now on about things people are likely to misunderstand.

So sorry about your dog. You should let negative post in, posters reading them may have a few things to retort!

  7. CB in the City Says:

The comments I'm deleting are so stupidly small-minded and mean, they don't even deserve a retort.
