A Setback for DS

August 30th, 2013 at 05:00 pm

My son just learned that his new employers are moving the business to a different city. They must be very shaky and disorganized if they hire someone new one day and move the business the next, so it's probably just as well. Except that he is out of an income again! He is still expecting the airfield job to come through when their licensing is resolved, but needs something temporary. Sigh.

They do have savings, but I hate to see them burn through them. I hope something turns up soon.

I had a no-spend day yesterday, and I'm hoping to have a quiet, low-spend weekend. I'll be going to a cookout on Saturday, for which I'm making brownies, but other than that, I'll be doing laundry and catching up on housework and cooking. And sleep. Maybe I'll get more of the puzzle done.

How devastating for DS and his family to be so 'kicked around' by employers...they then wonder why employee loyalty and respect has withered. I hope DS is entitled to severance and that he is the successful candidate for airfield job. It's distressing I know but he will need to be proactive getting the paperwork together and immediately apply for Unemployment benefits.

I mixed a quick batch of breakfast cookies [oats, chopped dried fruit, grated carrot + small amount of flour & brown sugar held together with beaten egg] which are as easy to eat as a breakfast bar, travel well and store in a desk drawer. Inexpensive, easy peasy and healthy choose what you like from the many on-line recipes.
