Summer

July 2nd, 2019 at 05:58 am

I had a full day yesterday. I started the day with laundry, and then went over to sit with GS1 while he played on his tablet. After a while I took him to the library, and we spent two hours there -- me reading, him on the computer. It was nice and cool. When it was time for lunch, we went to a pizza place. I spent $22, but there is plenty of pizza left over for other days. After lunch, we went back to his house and watched baseball bloopers on YouTube, and when his mom came home at 3, I went home for a little rest before the 5:30 baseball game, which lasted until 8:30.

Today will be much the same, except I will pick him up at his gym at 10:30, and there are two baseball games tonight. And we will scrounge lunch from the fridge.

I haven't mentioned variables, and that's because they are skyrocketing! I've spent 75% of my available income. A big chunk was medical, which I will probably take from savings instead. Then there was my two-day vacation and the spending I did there. More eating out than usual. I should mention also that I am working with a smaller amount to start with -- I did not have a lot of mystery shopping or other extra income to add in.

And now I have a trip to Michigan coming up. But I will make some money there, when I work at my SIL's antique store for two days.

Summer is always a little spendy for me. It is so different from the rest of the year, and I'm just going to embrace the differences -- because they are fun! And know that things will even out later in the year.

Summer is often an expensive time, more likely to be out and about doing things. Can you trim the eating out in July. Preparing ahead for times when you might want food with you? We often wait to go out to do something until after lunch, so that food isn't an expense. Of course, my husband would love to eat out frequently if I let him!!
