I picked up my sister today. She arrived hungry, so we went out to lunch at a diner -- she picked up the tab. After I got out of work we went to the grocery to stock up for our Thanksgiving trip up north. She will do some of the pre-cooking tomorrow while I'm at work. That's only if she feels up to it. She has a bad back and today she is suffering after the plane ride and especially after a bumpy ride in the bus that brought her here from the airport.
The grocery bill was $93.70, which was a bit of a shock. My sister gets the best ingredients, and doesn't consider price. If I had shopped alone from the same list it would have been a lot less -- but she is too choosy for store brands and she is compelled to get specialty items. I told her to be sure to get something to eat tomorrow while I'm at work. I noticed she picked up a package of hot dogs already in the bun and shrink-wrapped. What?? Why would anybody buy hot dogs like that? I don't argue with her, as it's only once a year. I know some of you may suggest I educate her, but she believes that I am the one that needs to be educated! I do love my sister, but we are so different from each other.
I also paid $4.31 online for pictures of my grandson from Walgreens.com, but I forgot to pick them up! I'll have to do that tomorrow. Also need to buy a game to take to our Thanksgiving celebration. We do not do Christmas gifts, but we've always had a small gift exchange at Thanksgiving. This year we're just bringing games.
Right now I'm tired and not looking forward to the holiday very much. I know my outlook will change, but right now -- bleahhhh.

I hope that she feels well enough to help with the pre-cooking, and I hope that your visit leads to laughs rather than tension. Happy Thanksgiving.
