I've been self-indulgent

April 26th, 2010 at 12:03 am

I spent a lot of money this weekend. For me. I've been feeling in a fix-me-up mood. I'm losing weight, and that's making me want to do a total overhaul. I feel really good, but also somewhat guilty.

I bought some new clothes. Two pairs of jeans and some really nice tops. Now, I bought them at Goodwill, so you might rightly say that's not much of an indulgence, but they were higher-priced "boutique" items. Ann Taylor, Talbot's, Chico's, Eddie Bauer. Good deals, but not the usual Goodwill deal. They are such cute clothes, but I have to remember that my ultimate goal is to shrink out of them, so I won't be wearing them long. I guess it all right to feel good during the transition.

Then I went to Walgreen's just to pick up a few things, I thought, but I ended up buying cosmetics and skin care items and the total bill was over $90!

Not done yet, I went to Kohl's and bought some earrings and a new watchband.

A few weeks ago, I spent $48 on a haircut. Unheard of, for me.

I don't know what's got into me. Yes, I want to feel pampered, but I am facing my second retirement in a few short years. I really need to do serious saving.

The worst part is, now that my ankle is pretty much healed, I am dying to get a pedicure!

It's like another person has taken over!

Oh well, I'm sure I will get back on the program soon.

Eh, as long as you use what you buy, it feels good to indulge and get it out of your system. Good luck with making the clothes you bought transition clothes - I bought nice stuff from the thrift stores for the same purpose. However, it took me a couple of years to lose enough to get them kinda out of transition. I still wear 'em though. I like 'em!
