Wait, there's more.
HER boss quit a few weeks ago. I don't think I mentioned that before. But with both of them going, that makes a bigger impact.
They will be gone in early and mid-March respectively. It will take a while to fill the positions and train the new people. So I am getting a whole lot of new work to do, I'm sure.
In some scenarios this would be good, but my boss works very closely with the database and I, frankly, do not have those skills or background. Much of what she does I simply do not know how to do. And at this late point in my career, I really don't want to learn!
But I will do what I have to do. The one bright spot in this is that our new VP seems to be a very good manager and I trust him to be fair and understanding.
One of the departing bosses told me that she mentioned to him that if I was taking on more responsibility, I deserved more compensation. I am underpaid as it is. But we'll see. I'm not holding my breath on that one.
