Free Food Galore

April 5th, 2018 at 12:29 pm

My mystery shop at the restaurant went well last night. We did rack up a bill that was $5 more than my reimbursement will be, but $5 was pretty cheap for two good dinners with dessert.

I forgot to stop and get a bagel at Panera! Oh well, I will do that today on the way to take the boys to music lessons. Counting today, I think I am entitled to four more bagels.

This weekend -- it appears I can choose either Saturday or Sunday -- I can buy $9 worth of groceries at Food4Less on a mystery shop.

It's time for an oil change, so I'm going to start looking for a place I can get that done free. I have found some oil change mystery shops, but I don't have the right make of car. I'll keep looking.

Variables are now at 28%; twenty days till pay day.

You are so resourceful on finding things to save you money. Good job!

I made bagels yesterday. Not as good as Panera and certainly not free like you have been getting. It was a recipe I saw on the Doctors show. One cup of self rising flour, one cup of plain Greek yogurt. Make the dough, roll it out into sticks, and then make them into circles and bake. I added cinnamon to the top. I had one this morning and it wasn't bad. If I make any more, I think I'll try to use some whole grain flour to make it a bit healthier. But a cheap bagel nonetheless.

I've never made bagels. I thought it involved boiling them in water, so I looked it up, and yes, it does! Quite involved. I guess the Doctors' version is kind of a bagel-shaped biscuit? I may try it; it certainly sounds easy!

I did an oil change mystery shop before - that was fun getting it free. Smile
