Last Day of November

November 30th, 2020 at 05:02 pm

I did some online Christmas shopping today, totalling $190.  I had decided ahead of time that I could spend somewhere in the neighborhood of $40-50 per person.  The gifts I got for my grandsons are a little under, so I will give them a little cash, too.

My big gifts will be money for college to all four grandchildren.  I'll take care of that after pay day in the middle of December.  I'm not sure yet how much I can afford to give this year.

It's the last day of the month and variables are at 98%.  I'll post my November recap tomorrow, even though it's basically done, and I doubt that I will spend anything today.

Yesterday I made 12 pints of broth -- 10 beef and 2 chicken.  I was using up the refrigerated soup base that endured the power outage.  Everything I read said that it would be fine if the broth was boiled, so that's what I did.  All of it went into the freezer for future cooking.  The freezer is full again.  I hope there are no more power outages!

Hate power outages because you never know when they will end.

Wow, that's a lot of broth! Good job!

You are probably smart to get your Christmas shopping done -- I bet with so many shopping online, delivery will be delayed for many, especially those who wait until the last minute.
