Pulled Muscle

January 6th, 2021 at 01:26 am

This was not the best day.  I decided to go to the Immediate Care center for what was termed "acute constipation."  While getting reading to go, I pulled a muscle in my thigh while pulling on a pair of boots.  Really weird that this happened; it was hardly a strenuous movement.  The pull is so bad I can barely walk.  It's been a miserable day.

As for the problem I went for, I got an x-ray which showed no obstruction.  I just have to drink more water and eat more fiber!

While I was out, I spent $11 at a drive-through for a plant-based lunch.  I wasn't feeling up to cooking.

My auto insurance payment (semi-annual) hit the bank today -- $748 was withrdrawn.  Also my $26 Medicare premium.

Variables are at 3%.

Good pusher foods for constipation are celery, corn, popcorn, grapes, canned or fresh peaches or nectarines, canned pears, cherries, plums, apricots (basically any stone fruit) and the old stand-by of dried prunes and raisins. Plus a lot of water. Foods to avoid until you are functioning right again are bananas, apples or applesauce, bread, and rice. They are binders and what is recommended for the opposite problem.

Sorry for the pulled muscle. They are so easy to pull doing random things that make no sense for it to pull.

I recently added BeneFiber to my diet (I had bariatric surgery which limits my ability to drink large quantities of water and eat large quantities of food). I'm still trying to focus on my water intake as well, but it's definitely helping! I buy the generic version from Target. I put it in my tea in the morning and don't notice any affect on taste/texture.

That is interesting about the apples. I have assumed that apples are high-fiber. I cannot take BeneFiber as it is hard on the kidneys, and I have chronic kidney disease.

I am happy to report that I am feeling better. I am gradually emptying my bowels and the pain in my thigh has gotten much better. I can now get around and do the normal things I need to do. Thank you for your concern!
