October Recap
November 5th, 2025 at 06:25 pmI'm late with my recap, because I was traveling. I went out to Oregon to stay with my son and his family for a long weekend. It was wonderful.
October was spendy, but mostly for fun reasons. Vacation costs were $100, but only that low because I had already paid for my plane ticket, and because much of my spending actually occurred in November, which will be reflected in this month's recap. Another bit of fun spending was eating out, which was $91. I went out with friends three times. Eating out is a social activity for me, as long as I am not going through drive-up windows, and I need to do it sometimes. This month eating out was higher than groceries, which were only $87. Entertainment was a little higher than usual, due to volleyball games -- again, fun! And on one occasion I treated my son, who is furloughed, to lunch and a tank of gas, which I counted as gifts. I spent $60 to finish up painting the bathroom. I had underestimated the amount of paint I needed, and didn't have quite the right tools.
The rest of my spending was for dull things like condo insurance ($358), pharmacy items, aquarium supplies, personal items, nothing big. As well as the regular bills -- housing, utilities, premiums. My total spending was $2050, which is below my income (whew!), always glad to see that.
Now I'm going to catch up on what you guys are doing!
