July Recap
August 23rd, 2026 at 04:21 amWell, here August is almost over, and I'm just now getting to my July recap. I'm slowing down for sure.
My big expense was my semi-annual auto insurance - $1751. Ouch. Also I gave my son $1000, as he is still in his low-paying employment predicament. He has been interviewing with one particular company which would give him a better job with much better pay and benefits. But who knows who else is interviewing for the same job? It's rough. He also has opportunities to move up in the casino, which he will pursue if he has to.
Groceries were $101. I continue to use food from the freezer and pantry. Very conscious of stretching it to the utmost. Entertainment was a little higher than usual - $76 -- because I paid to be in the family football pool, also bought some art supplies.
Everything else was just pretty normal.
Tomorrow I'm heading out to meet my friend in Indiana at the halfway point between our homes. I'm really looking forward to it. The stinky weather has kept me inside a lot and I'm ready for some fun.
