The doctor said ...

January 21st, 2008 at 11:49 pm

Today I went to the doctor -- no charge for now -- it will come later, I'm sure. She said, I have three things to say to you: mammography, bone density test, colonoscopy. I told her she was no fun. On Thursday I have to go get blood drawn to have my cholesterol checked, and I have to get my blood pressure (which was too high) rechecked in one month. Sigh.

Then I dropped off a bag of clothes at Goodwill, deposited a check in the bank, picked up dry cleaning ($12) and bought groceries ($54). I also topped off my tank, because prices were so low. That was $11.

Now I hope to go for another week without spending anything. Except for the $225 I will have to plunk down at the dentist on Thursday. Golly, body maintenance is expensive! Worse than a car.

Did you get a receipt for the value of the clothes you left at goodwill? I make sure I get a receipt for my tax deduction.

I had the colon thing twice. Drinking the stuff is the worst part, believe me. You won't remember the test part at all.

    Lost in debt --

No, I didn't get one this time. I did all last year, but I don't think my giving equaled the $250 I would take off my taxes anyway.

    Ima --

Yeah, I've had it once before. I don't dread the test at all, I dread the prep.

I could fill my first car tank for only $9...Those were the days.
