Yesterday, although I am on vacation, I popped in at work to get remote access set up on my computer. I ended up spending a few hours there, which I will take off some other time when I want to leave early, so it's all good.
After that, I decided to use my AMC gift card and see a movie. I just drove to the AMC theater without checking the listings -- there are so many theaters there and so many good movies out, I figured there would be something to see. Well, I hit it at just the wrong time; nothing that I wanted to see was starting. But "The King's Speech" was scheduled to start in an hour, so I decided to pop over to Penney's and come back. At Penney's I browsed all the marked-down Christmas merchandise, and eventually bought two gingerbread village baking sheets -- they make cookies that look like gingerbread houses. They were 75% off and I will give them to my DIL's next Christmas. OR -- I will keep them and make gingerbread cookies an annual gift. Haven't decided. The sheets were $16 for the two of them.
Then I went back to the theater and used my $10 card -- and the ticket was $10, which surprised me, but I haven't been to a movie in a while. It was a great movie, I highly recommend it! Colin Firth is sure to win the Oscar!
Today I have to get ready for my Florida trip, which will start when I get up at 3:30 am so I'll be ready for the 4:30 taxi. Ugh. I should take down my Christmas tree, so the cats don't take it down while I'm gone. I have some laundry to do, and -- I'm going to apply for a new job. Seems foolish at my age, but an opening has come up at a university very close to where my kids live and the job is more in line with my training and experience than the one I'm doing now. That said, I think it is unlikely they will even look at someone who is 61, but I have to give it a try. I updated my resume yesterday and today I just have to get online and fill out the form.
Guess that's all. I'll be checking in from Florida the next few days.
Just stuff

I really do believe that we must cross paths and not even know it. Yesterday afternoon I was at Yorktown's JCP returning a snow globe that I purchased and didn't give to my daughter. I was there at about 3:30. I had a bunch of kids (7) with me (three boys plus four girls - DDs had friends). Did you see me?
