Day Eighty-Seven

Calories: 1489

Yesterday I bought new ink cartridges for my new printer (it's going to run out of the sample cartridges soon, and I wanted to be prepared). With a $10 coupon, the cost was $51. At least in the future I will be able to buy the black and color cartridges separately. With my old printer, I had to get a whole new set every time.

My variables spending is now 73%, quite a bit higher than I would like it to be at this point. But I renewed my license plate, got an eye exam, got a haircut, bought a fan and new shoes, as well as the ink cartridges, so that's a lot of extras on a slim budget. I think my spending will be minimal the next two weeks. Then it will balloon again when I start my vacation trip to Florida.

My net worth is remaining steady, so I am not worried overall.

My son and DIL just sent new pictures of my granddaughter. She is so beautiful, and looks so mature for her age! I can hardly wait to see her again.

BC I see that you have been tracking your calorie intake for some time now. May I ask if you have lost any weight by doing so? Do you find your self making healthier choices now?

I am not weighing myself, but going by the fit of my clothes. All of my pants are looser, but not loose enough yet to discard. I am feeling more comfortable in my skin. With due diligence, greater change will come. I should add, I really have a slow metabolism! As for healthy choices, I am eating more salads, more veggies and fruits, and I am limiting (but not eliminating) sugar. I find I am doing this naturally as I count calories. I am not trying to make big changes, because I am seeking an eating plan that I can live with forever.

Has the old printer, cord, cartridges, manual gone to recycle or waiting to morph into clutter? This is a big issue here. I've loaded the really heavy, ancient printer into the care twice with cord & tube of ink [really old] but it still works and DH, fearful the new will cease up like the previous, newer cartridge type. arrrgh I can't convince him that the 'antique' will not work with his laptop.

I took the old printer to Goodwill. They recycle old printers.

Have you heard about a new printer that will not run out of ink? I think it's priced at around 2 or 3 hundred dollars. A big initial outlay, but if it truly doesn't run out of ink? Might be worth it in the long run. (I can't remember what company is making this - I think I saw something about it on Bing or FB.)
