Oscar Movie Week

February 4th, 2020 at 02:07 pm

Last night I bought my Oscar ticket ($38) and saw the first movie in the series, "1917." It was fantastic -- hard to watch, because it was very graphic and didn't pull any punches about the horrors of war -- but it was uplifting, too. Riveting.

I also bought the tickets for the four movies that BFF will join me for this weekend, but she will pay me back.

I didn't do much during the day, other than the lab visit. I hope to get the results today. Also on tap: gym, laundry, music lessons and dinner with the boys.

I am working my way through food in the freezer, but I will probably have to make a grocery visit soon to fill in some gaps.

That Oscar Movie Week is a great idea. I wish it was available here.

Our movie theater did this a few weeks ago (might have been for different awards?). I only made it to JoJo Rabbit. We were going to see Parasite but the timing didn't work. My husband knew I didn't want to see another war movie (He had already seen everything, of course).

Our Top 100 movies have been delayed, accordingly. But it was nice to see a stream of excellent movies in the theater.

MEC, yes, amazing cinematography -- worth seeing on the big screen.
