Nothing much to report today. I did some laundry yesterday, wearing gloves, and I took a walk, keeping away from people. I doctored my mac & cheese with vanilla almond milk (by mistake) and got a rather odd result. I'll try to fix it again today by adding mustard to counteract the weird sweetness.
Our state is hard hit by the virus, with more than 1,000 cases now. And that doesn't count all the people like me, who aren't sick enough to get tested, so we don't know. It does seem that people are heeding the stay-at-home order, mostly. I see shots of empty streets on the news. The people I see walking outside are mostly singletons, many of them walking their dogs.
My girlfriend trip, scheduled for April or May, has been cancelled till next year.
I don't know when I'll see my Oregon son again.
All I can do is carry on.
Nothing Much

I am trying to keep in mind other times in my life when, even though the days seemed to move slowly, the weeks and months in hindsight were a small part of my life. My brother was deployed to Iraq for several months a few years ago. I was housebound for weeks after surgery. I worked in another country for months. Things like that. I think your gap year was like that for you.
I am mentally preparing for this to last a year. And I am telling myself - anyone can do anything for 365 days. And seven of those have passed. I am grateful that although my money has taken a big hit (like everyone) I have enough to get through that year and I won’t be hungry.
Anyway, I hope this helps in a tiny way.
We are tough. We can do this.

Same retinue of dog walkers--us included-- around here. My online teaching ramps up next week, but DD has the spring break week off.
