No-Spend Day

August 1st, 2020 at 02:42 pm

I didn't spend anything yesterday, so my July recap holds.

It was a great game last night -- GS1 hit a double at a crucial moment, and the team won by three points after being behind for most of the game.

I was very uncomfortable last night with indigestion. I have no idea what food is bothering me -- it seems to be any food. I thought I was having a heart attack until I sat up and the pain went away. I am very short on sleep today. I was bothered not only by that, but also by a sharp nerve pain in my foot. Then I woke up with a headache, but Tylenol helped with that.

I'm going to take it easy today. I do have a game tonight, but if I'm feeling bad, I won't go.

Now that it's a new month, I'm going to order some cat food and probiotics.

I found a tear in a pillowcase yesterday, so a new set of sheets is back on the list again. The piecemeal set which is my backup is falling apart. I'll look around online today to see if I can find any bargains.

My stomach's always been pretty happy, at least since I went vegan 20+ years ago, but I've been having what seemed at first like random bouts of gastrointestinal issues since lockdown started. Now I can usually tie it to a spike in stress -- even a mild one can trigger diarrhea a few hours or a day later. I figure I have a constant amount of underlying stress from COVID, Trump, etc., that I'm so used to I don't notice it as much, but layering any on top of that sort of overwhelms my system.

Oh and of course, since that's one of the many possible symptoms of COVID, the first time I got it I was scared I'd caught it! Testing wasn't widely available back then so I waited it out and it went away eventually.

I second what ceejay says. I think all the current situation raises my stress level about 20-30%, so things which shouldn't bother me so much really do. I was climbing the walls about the internet outage and waiting on DD's visa. I got halfway through Michelle Obama's book last because I couldn't sleep. Same digestive issues here.
