Haircut?

August 2nd, 2020 at 07:00 pm

I'm wavering on the haircut thing. I had decided that I was just going to let my hair grow, because of COVID, and for a change, but I find myself looking at haircuts online. One night I was looking at shaggy pixies, and last night I was looking at the messy French bob. Right now my haircut is a long bob, slightly shorter in back. It's in between chin length and and shoulder length. I'm finding it kind of hard to manage, because my hair is wavy, but not in a very attractive way. But I am able to pull it back now, so that is a plus. Sigh. I guess I'll wait. It's money-saving after all.

I was much more vigilant yesterday about sitting up for at least a half hour after eating and taking medicine, instead of my usual lounging around. And I had a much better day. I guess I need to learn new habits. I also have to be better about not eating when I'm not hungry. Duh! There are better ways to treat myself!

Since my birthday is coming up, I picked out a set of sheets on Amazon and put it on my wish list. I looked for a table lamp, but the ones I liked were more than I would ask anyone else to pay. So I'll handle that myself.

I decided not to order the pet supplies I need. I have a $10 in-store coupon for PetSmart, and I have a gift card to use up. So I'll be making a trip there in the near future.

I got a notice that another book on hold is ready for pickup. I made an appointment to pick it up -- first available time was on Tuesday! The website said that they will be stopping pickup in the underground garage on Wednesday. I wonder what the new system will be. Maybe the library is opening up more and patrons will come inside to get their holds.

I placed four more books on hold. I seem to be reading faster than I am getting books.

I spent nothing yesterday except $1.50 for laundry. I hope to make this a low-spend month.

We have the same style of haircut. I love the slightly inverted bob, it's so easy to style. I let it go as long as I could but finally caved in and had it cut but of course everyone's comfort level is different. I was nervous about going into the salon but it was fine, they were operating with extreme safety. I probably won't go again for a few months.

Ugh, my hair. I have "good" hair--it's thick and in pretty good condition. I usually let it air dry, but the grey has taken over. I've booked my first haircut and color since February in late August. I toyed with the idea of letting the grey take over, but I am just not ready. I'm also not completely ready for the idea of the salon, but it's gotta go.

I have been to my salon and I will say I felt pretty safe. I had to call to be let in. No one is allowed to wait in the salon. They took my temperature upon coming in and asked if I was feeling well. I had to use hand sanitizer and could not enter without a mask. I had to take the mask off of my ears, but kept it on my face while being shampooed, and then put it back on while my hair was cut. The hair dresser cleaned the chair I was to use for the wash, cleaned it after I got up, and cleaned the one I sat in for the haircut before I sat down and then again when I got up.

We did change my hair cut and did layers instead of a "bob" because I have natural wavy hair too and with a mask, once I straightened it, it didn't stay straightened with the mask. So, this hair cut is more of a wash and go.

I met up with two friends (one male one female) and we were comparing our coronavirus hair. The guy broke down and is getting his cut tomorrow! I'm OK looking kinda shaggy; will have plenty of length to work with once things are closer to normal.

Our hairdresser was able to stay open so we have been able to get our hair done...also our guy works from home and has no more than 2 people at a time...and my daughter and i always go in together...but our state only has 2 cases (first ones in a month) and they came from a different state and are in isolation...god I would be so grey if I couldn't see my hairdresser
