I haven't been able to get into the blogs -- I guess others have had problems, too? Anyway, it went on so long I stopped trying. Then Dido's post appeared in my email, so it looks like I'm back in business.
My August report was unspectacular. Housing and utilities were as usual. I spent only $105 on groceries. I did a little traveling but it was only $74. Gas was $60, personal spending was $36, I spent $33 on footwear from Goodwill, ate out a little to the tune of $25. Nothing else really stands out.
This month I have two birthdays, which includes donations to college funds, so it will be a little different.
I went to Aldi today, expecting to get only a few things. I didn't go overboard, but I filled up two bags. I was shocked at how much prices have jumped -- at Aldi! Feeling a bit morose about money these days.
I just got back from a short trip to attend a wedding. It was nice, and not too expensive. My gift was bringing someone special to the groom's family to the ceremony. I don't really know the family myself. I was the plus-one and the transportation. Still, it was fun. How weddings have changed! It was held in an old factory, and the vibe was casual and carefree. Interesting.
Since I've been out of it for a while, I need to catch up on all your blogs! I'm going to do that now.

Grocery prices are just getting ridiculous, even at Aldi.
